Perspectives toward New Stories. Part I: Narrative as a Tool for Personal and Cultural Transformation. Part II: The Universe Story: On Choosing a Narrative That Could Save Us.
Drake, Susan; Linney, Grant
Pathways: The Ontario Journal of Outdoor Education, v7 n5 p14-16 Jul-Aug 1995
We need a "new story" that replaces materialistic and exploitative cultural values with respect for others and the environment. Creation of this new story begins by retelling our experiences of connecting to nature in the outdoors. "The Universe Story" (Brian Swimme, Thomas Berry) combines spirituality with science to trace intricate universal interrelationships back to the beginnings of time. (SV)
