This monograph is a review of recent state and federal court decisions that have particular significance for school administrators. The author summarizes and comments on selected decisions rendered by courts of record during the 1976 calendar year plus a few late 1975 and early 1977 cases. A total of 77 cases are reviewed under six topical headings: administrators, teachers, pupils, torts, religion, and contracts. Each case review includes 1) the question or questions considered by the court, 2) a summary of the facts of the case, 3) the court's decision, and 4) the author's commentary, including the court's rationale.
