This document details the various academic programs, student services, and students involvement opportunities at Wayne Community College (North Carolina). Wayne Community College is a student-centered, public, two-year college with an open-door admissions policy. Seven modern buildings on a new campus contain more than 287,000 square feet of state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and offices. In 1996 Wayne Community College completed a campus development project which had been underway for 22 years on more than 165 acres of property. Continuing education and basic skills courses and programs are offered on campus and at a variety of locations throughout the community. Curriculum, continuing education, and basic skills courses and programs are also offered at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. The college serves individuals, business and industry, and other organizations with quality, economical, and convenient learning opportunities. In order to fulfill Wayne Community College's mission most effectively, the college strives to: (1) develop both personal and marketable skills in all students; (2) develop basic learning skills in all students; (3) enable students to continue their education at other institutions; (4) increase the global and cultural awareness of students and community; (5) provide for the training needs of local business and industry; and finally (6) enhance the quality of life in the community.
