Sage Research Methods Cases
After completing my Master of Arts in Adult Education and Training in 2009, I decided to pursue my Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. The objective of obtaining my Doctor of Business Administration was a major step toward fulfilling my long-term career goal to teach at the collegiate level. This case study presents steps taken in conducting my quantitative descriptive correlation research study. The purpose of this quantitative descriptive correlation research study was to analyze the correlation between high school principal leadership styles and student graduation rates. In addition, this study examined whether the type of school (Title I or Title II) affected the relationship between high school principal leadership styles and student graduation rates. Title I schools are schools with below-average student performance. In other words, Title I provides state funds to schools whose students are failing or at risk of not meeting state testing requirements. Title II schools are schools with above-average student performance. Variables studied for this research were high school principal leadership styles as the predictor variable, student graduation rates as the criterion variable, and type of school as the moderating variable.
