Manhattan College Center for Professional Ethics Report, Fall 1985.
Arena, Lydia E., Ed.
Published once each semester by Manhattan College (New York), the report serves as a resource for faculty and students as they deal with professional ethical dilemmas and conflicts in their course work and work lives; it also helps to further the Center for Professional Ethics basic purpose of promoting greater sensitivity to the ethical dimensions of professional life within society. The lead article in this issue, "Empowerment for Change," by Bernard Noone, discusses five ways in which Manhattan College's revised general education curriculum emphasizes the overarching value of the critical study of human experience and empowers students to become active participants in their own development. Also in this issue is an announcement of two Center-awarded grants for course modules; reviews of three books on business ethics; and an article on computers and education by Eileen Brady. A brief editorial by John R. Wilcox provides a restatement of the Center's purpose. (TRS)
