The purpose of this bulletin is to provide information about the Alberta (Canada) Grade 3 Social Studies Achievement Test. The Bulletin includes a general description of the Achievement Testing Program, a description of the Grade 3 Social Studies Achievement Test, an outline of the objectives to be tested, and the test blueprint. Student achievement is analyzed according to recall and comprehension; inquiry skills; value concepts and valuing skills; interdependence of communities in Canada today; lifestyles of Canadians in other times; and lifestyles in culturally distinctive communities. Sample questions are presented to demonstrate the nature and complexity of the test items. A sample question key and the correct answers, the process for obtaining the correct answer, and the curriculum specifications that the item meets are provided. (APG)
