Learn about Life Science: Plants. [CD-ROM].
This CD-ROM, designed for students in grades K-2, explores the world of plants. From small seeds to tall trees, students learn what plants are, what their parts are called, and what conditions they need to grow. Three extension activities include simple and part/whole matching exercises, a sequencing activity involving the dimension of time, and a creative build-a-plant game that asks students to write descriptions of the plants they have designed. Nine content presentations are featured in the lessons section. A read-aloud section is also included. Students can take part in quizzes and note taking while using the program. There is a jukebox on which students can listen to songs based on plants. Program completion certificates are included. Plant activities cover topics such as exploring seeds; traveling seeds; plant helpers; grow, plant grow; makin' food; and my pretend plant. The teacher's guide includes instructions on using the CD-ROM and classroom activities. (SAH)
