Interactive Incidents From Classroom, School, and Community.
Lunetta, Vincent N.; Zalewski, Leon J.
This 64-page booklet was produced to provide preservice teachers with a realistic view of situations they may encounter in the science classroom. It is the authors' intention to provide a means for inexperienced teachers "to bridge the gap between idealized preservice preparation and professional teaching." The material is classified into chapters which focus primarily on teacher-student, teacher-teacher, teacher-administrator, and teacher-parent-community relationships. A second classification of incidents is provided through the use of a topical index in which incidents are identified as related to such topics as discipline, drugs, evaluation. safety, sex education, etc. Also included are two and one-half pages of advice to teacher educators concerning the use of this material in teacher education programs. A 10-item list of references concludes the booklet. (PEB)
