The responsibilities and privileges of the University of Georgia faculty are explained in the 1976-77 handbook. It was prepared for use as a first source and reference for faculty members, and was not intended to be definitive on policy matters. Major sections of the guide deal with: history and purpose of the university; organization; faculty participation in university government; personnel policies; university facilities and services; and social, cultural, and recreational opportunities.
