Designed to help high school teachers improve their creative writing courses, this document stresses the value of submitting students' work to professional publications. Separate sections examine general rules for teaching creative writing, present background information on creativity, discuss benefits and problems involved in submitting students' work for publication, and list possible outlets for student writing. Also included are a discussion of a junior high school creative writing program, with examples of student writing, and a presentation of three stories by high school students both originally published in "Alberta English."
