Materials contained in this career guidance unit are intended to help the senior high school student become familiar with ways in which the availability and/or desirability of vocational opportunities are influenced by trends resulting from social, economic, and technological factors. Instructional sequence of the one- to two-week unit includes goal statements, performance objectives, instructor's information (including estimated lesson time, suggested grouping, content outline, new vocabulary, student prerequisites, instructor's preparation tasks, resources), and a detailed outline for developing the lesson. A student guide containing activities for use with the unit and a reading supplement are provided. (TA)
