Explored are ways in which spreadsheets can be used in the teaching of chemistry. Some of the limitations of using algebraic modelling tools are highlighted. Several example applications are provided. (CW)

A collection of Molecular Orbital (MO) programs that have been integrated into routines and programs to illustrate MO theory are presented. Included are discussions of Computer Aided Composition of Atomic Orbitals (CACAO) and Walsh diagrams. (CW)

Reviewed are six computer programs which may be useful in teaching college level chemistry. Topics include dynamic data storage in FORTRAN, "KC?DISCOVERER," pH of acids and bases, calculating percent boundary surfaces for orbitals, and laboratory interfacing with PT Nomograph for the Macintosh. Presented are several simple kinetic systems together with the spreadsheets used to solve them. A set of exercises in chemical kinetics appropriate for an introductory course in physical chemistry is given. Error propagation calculations with experimental data are illustrated. (CW)

Described are two applications of computers in chemistry. The multilinear equations and procedures used in obtaining a least-squares solution for curve fitting in chemistry are presented. Also discussed is the program "ATORB" which can be used to generate graphs of probable electron clouds for various atoms and molecules. (CW)
