Video Vision. A Publication on Instructional Television, Video Production, and Distance Learning.
Hirschen, Bill
This publication of the New York State Education Department addresses three applications of video in New York schools. Chapter 1 discusses public, cable, and commercial television broadcast resources, resources in the form of videotape libraries and collections, and resource utilization. The second chapter focuses on the process and product of video production, while the concept, context, content, and capacities of distance learning are covered in Chapter 3. Five appendices provide lists of: (1) independent public and private television producers and distributors; (2) guidelines for off-air recording of television programs; (3) New York State BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) Educational Communications Directors; (4) distance learning projects funded by the Technologies Network Ties program, fall 1986; and (5) proposed or operable distance learning projects. A glossary is also provided. (MES)
