This second Cumulative Index to "Journalism Quarterly" incorporates references to Volumes 26-40 (1949-1963) with those found in the Index to Volumes 1-25 (1924-1948), published in December 1948. It thus presents an analytical guide to 40 years of published research in journalism and mass communication, as well as changing trends in journalism research as reflected in an analysis of the magazine's contents for the entire 40 years. The index demonstrates increasing application of more systematic methods of research to the entire field of journalism and mass communication.
