Cohen, Patricia; And Others – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1990
Problems in the measurement of latent variables (LVs) in structural equations causal models are presented, with examples from recent empirical studies. Main issues addressed are (1) two general types of increased operative variables; (2) criteria for indicators of LVs; and (3) disattenuation effects in LV models. (SLD)

Meijer, Rob R. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1995
A statistic used by R. Meijer (1994) to determine person-fit referred to the number of errors from the deterministic Guttman model (L. Guttman, 1950), but this was, in fact, based on the number of errors from the deterministic Guttman model as defined by J. Loevinger (1947, 1948). (SLD)

Guttman, Ruth; And Others – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1990
After a brief review of the contributions of factor analysis and regional analysis to the elaboration of the structures of spatial abilities, a facet design and regional model for spatial abilities are presented. A cylindrical-wedge model is proposed to represent the correlational structure of spatial ability tests. (SLD)

Chatterjee, Sangit; Yilmaz, Mustafa – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1992
The importance of regression diagnostics in detecting influential data points is discussed, and five statistics are recommended for the applied researcher. The suggested diagnostics were used on a dataset of 24 subjects, and effects were analyzed. Colinearity-based diagnostics and diagnostics for a variety of procedures are discussed. (SLD)

Millsap, Roger E.; Everson, Howard T. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1993
This review employs a conceptual framework that distinguishes methods of detecting measurement bias based on either observed or unobserved conditional invariance models. The primary interest is in group-level measurement bias. Methods for bias detection in both continuous and ordered-categorical measures are reviewed, as are methods for testlets…
