Reviews of studies from 1963 to 1981 on the views of American and international children and teenagers about war and peace were examined for common findings. Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development is discussed as a way of providing a common, systematic method for additional research. (Author/MT)

This literature review examines the potential of selective recall for assessing level of moral reasoning. Rest's Defining Issues Test was administered to five individuals to test the applicability of certain principles of selective recall in assessing moral reasoning. (IAH)

Researchers analyzed the responses of second-, fourth-, and sixth-grade students who read three fables, and traced the relationship between grade level and stage of moral development. The children reflected different stages of moral development. The use of fables to elicit responses to moral questions is discussed. (PP)
