Vacas, Julia; Antolí, Adoración; Sánchez-Raya, Araceli; Pérez-Dueñas, Carolina – Education and Training in Autism and Developmental Disabilities, 2021
Emotional competence (EC) refers to a set of skills to identify, understand, and respond to one's own emotions and those of others. Jeste, Shafali S.; Nelson, Charles A., III – Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 2009
In this paper we critically review the literature on the use of event related potentials (ERPs) to elucidate the neural sources of the core deficits in autism. We review auditory and visual ERP studies, and then review the use of ERPs in the investigation of executive function. We conclude that, in autism, impairments likely exist in both low and…

Klin, Ami – Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 1993
A review of 11 studies of auditory brainstem response (ABR) in individuals with autism concludes that the ABR data are only suggestive (rather than supportive) of brainstem involvement in autism. The presence of peripheral hearing impairment was observed in some of the autistic individuals. (Author/DB)

Berkell, Dianne E.; And Others – Education and Training in Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, 1996
This paper presents an overview of auditory integration training as a treatment for painfully hypersensitive hearing in persons with autism.
