Tasks of a doctoral program are discussed, including selecting a program, maneuvering through initial experiences, making adjustments, completing coursework, preparing for comprehensive examinations, choosing an internship, and completing the dissertation. (Author)

More counseling psychology students, including those from programs not approved by the American Psychological Association, are obtaining internships. There are fewer but better applicants and while students are having an easier time finding internships, especially in community mental health centers, job placements are more difficult. (JAC)
