Oliver, Joseph E.; Jose, Paul E.; Brough, Paula – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2006
Original formulations of the Work Locus of Control Scale (WLCS) proposed a unidimensional structure of this measure; however, more recently, evidence for a two-dimensional structure has been reported, with separate subscales for internal and external loci of control. The current study evaluates the one- and two-factor models with confirmatory…

Marsh, Herbert W.; Richards, Gary E. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1987
The factorial structure of the Rotter Internal-External (IE) scale was examined. While there was strong evidence against the unidimensionality of the Rotter scale, the findings suggested that the first-order factors do define a single higher-order construct that may represent the generalized IE construct. Galejs, Irma; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1984
The Personal Reaction Scale was developed as a test for adults to measure their locus of control perceptions. It was administered to women college students, their parents, and parents of preschool children. Responses were factor analyzed to yield six factors: Fate, Social Self, Personal Self, Self-Determination, Luck, and Powerlessness.…

Walkey, Frank H. – Journal of Personality Assessment, 1979
The internal-external locus of control scales of Rotter and Levenson and the Marlowe-Crowne Social Desirability Scale were completed by 156 undergraduates. The three-factor structure underlying Levenson's questionnaire was clearly confirmed. Some new evidence for the multidimensionality of Rotter's scale was also presented. (Author/GDC)
