A noncomputerized study of the journal title usage by the clients of the Extension Division of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Library showed that its validity increased in direct proportion to the number of relevant parameters. Such studies should include both numbers of requesters and numbers of requests. (Author)

A total of 120 medical schools responded to a survey about their use of written student evaluations of faculty, anonymity policy, and use of the evaluations in faculty promotion, tenure, and salary decisions. Variables that affect the use of knowledge gained by educators at workshops were investigated. Knowledge use is significantly associated with: (1) school climate variables such as staff treatment, goal direction, and problem solving; and (2) workshop features such as clear explanations, job relevance, and amount and qualities of instruction.
