Developmental Changes in Reading Attitudes during the Intermediate Grades.

A Survey of Reading Attitudes was administered to 431 intermediate-grade students, providing measures for eight different dimensions of reading attitude. Significant patterns of change were shown for the following dimensions: Expressed Reading Difficulty, Reading as Direct Reinforcement, Silent v Oral Reading, and Comics. (Author/GDC)

Students' perception of overall teaching performance is strongly aligned with feelings about the course. A method is presented for separating the effects of the teacher, the course, and individual student groups. All three effects are highly significant; the effect of the course is by far the most prominent. (Author/JKS)
