A Developmental Analysis of Visual and Auditory Sustained Attention and Reflection-Impulsivity in Hyperactive and Normal Children.

Multivariate analyses, followed by univariate tests, indicated that the normal children increased in sustained attention efficiency with age to both visual and auditory stimuli. Hyperactive children (9-14 years old) increased in sustained attention efficiency with age to auditory but not visual stimuli. (Author)

A cue-target visual attention task was administered to 25 children (ages 10-12) with dyslexia. Results showed a general pattern of slower responses in the children with dyslexia compared to controls.
