Tadikamalla, Pandu R. – Psychometrika, 1980
Six different algorithms to generate widely different non-normal distributions are reviewed. These algorithms are compared in terms of speed, simplicity, and generality of the technique. The advantages and disadvantages of using these algorithms are briefly discussed. (Author)

Divgi, D. R. – Psychometrika, 1979
A new computer subroutine has been developed for calculating the tetrachoric correlation coefficient. Recent advances in computing inverse normal and bivariate normal distributions have been utilized. The procedure is useful for item analysis. (Author/JKS)

Karpman, Mitch – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
This program calculates the chi-square statistic for testing the assumptions of equality and symmetry of covariance matrices in a repeated measures design. (Author)

Milligan, Glenn W. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
A FORTRAN program is provided for calculating the power of statistical tests based on the chi-square distribution. The program produces approximations to the exact probabilities obtained from the noncentral chi-square distribution. The calculation of the noncentrality parameter is discussed for tests of independence and goodness of fit.…

Steiger, James H. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
The program presented computes a chi-square statistic for testing pattern hypotheses on correlation matrices. The statistic is based on a multivariate generalization of the Fisher r-to-z transformation. This statistic has small sample performance which is superior to an analogous likelihood ratio statistic obtained via the analysis of covariance…

Cliff, Norman; And Others – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1979
Monte Carlo research with TAILOR, a program using implied orders as a basis for tailored testing, is reported. TAILOR typically required about half the available items to estimate, for each simulated examinee, the responses on the remainder. (Author/CTM)
