Gebauer, Guido F.; Mackintosh, Nicholas J. – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 2007
The hypothesis that performance on implicit learning tasks is unrelated to psychometric intelligence was examined in a sample of 605 German pupils. Performance in artificial grammar learning, process control, and serial learning did not correlate with various measures of intelligence when participants were given standard implicit instructions.…

Bak, Joseph S.; Greene, Roger L. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1980
Subjects between the ages of 50 and 86 years were given portions of the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Test Battery, the Wechsler Memory Scale, and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale. Hassan, Karma El; Maluf, Ghada – Early Childhood Education Journal, 1999
Describes the Spectrum Project in a Lebanese kindergarten, the goal of which was to determine whether, through assessment of activities, a profile of children's abilities, strengths, and weaknesses could be identified, and to investigate the relationship between the different intelligences. Implications and recommendations for future research are…

Jacobson, Robert L. – Chronicle of Higher Education, 1992
Robert J. Atwell, Julie A.; Conners, Frances A.; Merrill, Edward C. – American Journal on Mental Retardation, 2003
Young adults with (n=34) and without (n=41) mental retardation completed a sequence-learning and identification task. For some, sequences were constructed following an artificial grammar. Explicit learning was determined by ability to learn and identify random sequences, implicit learning by the tendency to identify incorrectly new grammatical…

Ellis, Norman R.; And Others – Intelligence, 1985
Retarded and nonretarded persons were compared on a task designed to preclude the use of cognitive strategies. Results suggest the possible importance of automatic processing deficiencies and invite a reconsideration of the idea that the relationship between intelligence and memory is due entirely to effortful processes. Campione, Joseph C.; And Others – Intelligence, 1985
Groups of retarded and nonretarded children were investigated as they learned three rules underlying problems adapted from the Raven Progressive Matrices Test: rotation, imposition, and subtraction. Results were seen as consistent with theories that emphasize transfer flexibility as one potential source of individual and comparative differences in…
