Investigated the effectiveness of an innovative method of counseling, Rapid Problem Resolution (RPR) with chronically unemployed rehabilitation clients. Counselors used the RPR technique with 29 problem clients whose cases were about to be closed unsuccessfully. In this study, 19 of the 26 clients were rehabilitated. (Author)

Reviews the literature on employment of ex-offenders and proposes a model for understanding and predicting the effectiveness of ex-offender employment programs. Suggests that prisonization and self-esteem are especially important for understanding post-release adjustment. (JAC)

Reports findings from a survey of 385 supported employment agencies on their use of natural supports in time-lined and extended services. Eighty-five percent reported that their agencies emphasize natural supports and that these supports have been successful. Resistance to natural supports by employers and coworkers is discussed.
