Examines the preliminary evaluation of self-instructional material in physiology designed as remedial work by medical students. The materials are now used by science, veterinary, dental, and postgraduate medical students and have been distributed to 20 countries. Evaluation results indicate the materials are effective methods of study.

The development and testing of an information mapped programed text on critical path method for an MBA elective at a British business school is described. The development and validation of a system teaching problem-solving in pharmacotherapeutics is described. The module was developed for both small group and self-instruction using clinical cases in hypertension. Results show the method to be an effective means of teaching therapeutic information focusing on patient situations. (MSE)
