A test to assess prereaders' understanding of the function of print is evaluated. Results show test reliability and validity. Children who had been diagnosed as dyslexic were compared with other disabled readers and no differences were found. When the dyslexic and disabled reading children were compared with normal children, differences were found in neurodevelopmental skills and parents' reading and spelling skills. (MKM)
