A Grievance Handbook for Women Educators.
National Association for Women Deans, Administrators, and Counselors, Washington, DC.
Reference materials for the educator who has an employment-related grievance are presented. Basic principles and rights of employment and general procedures for filing a grievance both within and outside an employing institution are examined. The procedures apply for educators at the K-12 level, in higher education, and in social service agencies. Basic principles and rights of women as employees are considered, and key federal laws and executive orders that prohibit sex-based discrimination are reviewed. The addresses of relevant federal and state agencies, sample grievance forms, and sample grievance procedures for colleges, universities, secondary/elementary schools, and government agencies are included.
