This congressional hearing examines the problems facing women who seek jobs in fields traditionally dominated by men, particularly in construction and high technology areas. Witnesses include women who tell about barriers they personally have faced as they seek careers in high-tech and construction, who lead organizations that are working hard to break down those barriers, and who represent the viewpoint of unions and employers regarding this problem. Representatives of the Reagan administration tell what they have done and what they plan to do in the future.
