House Resolution 4982 establishes a network of 10 regional consortia for the purpose of providing technical assistance to schools undergoing reform of their science and mathematics programs; authorizes the Secretary of Education, through a merit-based competitive grant or contract, to establish a National Clearinghouse for Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Materials; and makes several amendments to the Dwight D. Eisenhower Mathematics and Science Education Act in order to strengthen the program.
