This set of six videotapes and a teacher's guide follows an interdisciplinary approach and integrates science, mathematics, and writing. The teacher's guide accompanies the videotapes. Six lessons include: (1) "Rotation Duration," which explores the time that it takes for the Moon to go around the Earth and studies the common Moon phases; (2) "It's Just a Phase," which investigates how common moon phases occur; (3) "Wax On, Wane Off," which explores the Moon phases of waxing, waning, crescent, and gibbous; (4) "Me and My Shadow," which studies the reasons for the occurrence of lunar and solar eclipses; (5) "Rise and Shine," which investigates the variations in Moon rising and setting times; and (6) "By the Light of the Moon," which explores cultural beliefs and practices determined by the Moon.
