Capital Finance and Facilities Report for Illinois Public Community Colleges, 1976.
Illinois Community Coll. Board, Springfield.
This report reviews the present status of physical facilities available and being constructed or planned for the public community colleges in Illinois. The report consists of three major parts: (1) a summary and overview, (2) financing of community college facilities, and (3) total space in community college facilities. Among the highlights of the report are: permanent space available per full-time equivalent student is approximately 119 gross square feet; public community colleges currently occupy nearly 7,200 acres of land; community college bond referendums, the State General Assembly, and federal sources have made over $624 million available for physical facilities; sources of funds budgeted for completed facilities show the state contributing approximately 65.4%, local districts 29.9%, and the federal government 4.7%; and, almost 50% of the net assignable square footage in permanent facilities is accounted for by classrooms and teaching laboratories. Numerous tables display revenue sources, areas of expenditure, space allocations, and total space available for all Illinois public community colleges and for each individual institution. (JDS)
