An Evaluation of the 1977 Minority Introduction to Engineering Summer Program. Report No. 270.
Richards, James M., Jr.; And Others
This program brings selected minority high school students to engineering schools all over the United States during the summer between their junior and senior year in high school. The students experience activities which familiarize them with engineering and with college. The evaluation of the program was based on pre- and post-data obtained from self-report questionnaires. The results indicated that the program, Minority Introduction to Engineering (MITE), achieved its main goal of increasing the number of minority students planning to study engineering. A list of participating institutions, sample evaluation forms (including questionnaires) and tables of data are included as part of this program evaluation. (Author/MC)
