In response to a previous paper (EC 212 858) regarding the neurodevelopmental evidence for the basis of dyslexia, this paper offers corroborating evidence of neurological difference in dyslexic persons and stresses the need for more research on brain mechanisms in disorders of reading. (DB)

Ernhart states that no study has yet proved that low-level lead exposure is detrimental to child development, while H. L. This article responds to Sylvia Richardson (EC 602 667), noting a failure to address the definitional issues associated with dyslexia. A definition of dyslexia is offered that considers the nature of the processing limitation underlying the disorder as well as the developmental changes that occur in the manifestation of the disorder.
