The purpose of this position paper is to emphasize the importance that sexuality within educational curriculum needs to become more inclusive to promote an equitable environment for all learners. This emphasis is based on data that supports how constructing a binary focus within sex education through implied gender roles and sexuality does not support the diverse needs of LGBTQ learners within our institutions.
