The author states his belief that this "imagining," this giving body and substance to the nature of "imagination" is one of the foundations of knowing, a means of bridging, a form of intelligence that is necessary. It is the basis of how one builds a language of thought and feeling, of seeing and hearing, that becomes the language of conversation with ourselves and others.
