Presented is a directory of approximately 120 federally funded First Chance programs for handicapped preschoolers. A map and city listing provide regional and geographic information on the projects. Listed alphabetically by city are demonstration (first three years of funding) and outreach (fourth and fifth year funding) projects. Usually provided is the following information: project name, phone number, and agency; age range and number of children served; nature of handicaps; number and kind of personnel; brief description of the approach used; termination date of current funding; other notable features; and rural or urban nature of the area served.
