Intended to facilitate cooperation among all types of libraries and to assist the medical and health sciences communities, this directory lists 152 medical libraries in New York State: hospital, industrial, medical research, schools of medicine, and schools of nursing, optometry, and pharmacy. Most of the libraries are open to research by appointment. Arranged alphabetically by the parent institution, each entry contains the full address of the library, as well as the names of the institution's administrator, head librarian, and interlibrary loan librarian. Statistical data on library holdings and staff are included along with telephone and teletype numbers, county and 3R's area designations, interlibrary loan information, network or consortia participation, and the names of publications issued by the library.
