Postsecondary Educational Supply and Occupational Demand in Texas, Spring 1985.
Texas Coll. and Univ. System, Austin. Coordinating Board.
Information on the relation between the output of postsecondary education in Texas and career opportunities in the job market is presented to help promote career decision-making. Vocational and academic programs that are overproducing, underproducing, or in balance relative to occupational openings in the state are identified. The information is valid until May 1987. Tables contain statewide consolidated information on supply and demand conditions for various college programs: descriptive ratings of employment opportunities for each program (i.e., excellent, very good, balanced, competitive, and keenly competitive); the number of program graduates or qualified completers who will be entering the job market; the number of job openings in occupations related to each program of study; expected employment opportunity conditions by field, 1990-1991 (i.e., definite improvement, some improvement, about the same, some decline, definite decline); average salary range for 1984 graduates by field; and directly or closely related occupations for each field of study. The following types of programs are covered: professional, baccalaureate and graduate, and vocational education. Program indexes and cross references of occupations and related programs are included.
