This directory offers an inventory of educational opportunities available to beginning entrepreneurs and small business owners in New York. Drawing from a fall 1986 survey of secondary and postsecondary educational institutions in the state, the directory presents data provided by 112 institutions concerning more than 140 programs on content emphasis, objectives, target audience, format, schedule, cost, available assistance, and instructional staff. Where appropriate, lists and descriptions of seminars and workshops offered as part of individual programs are provided. In addition to a descriptive paragraph on each program, the directory also lists a contact person, phone number, institution, and address. A listing of small business development centers, economic development centers, and other agencies that offer entrepreneurial training, such as chambers of commerce, cooperative extension centers, and small business administration offices, is also given for each region.
