Our Planets at a Glance. Information Summaries.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Washington, DC. Scientific and Technical Information Branch.
People have gazed up at the cosmos for thousands of years and wondered about the wanderers of the heavens: the planets. The past 20 years have been the golden age of planetary exploration because of many expeditions, most notably the Voyager and other unmanned space craft. This document is a summary of the information known about the planets of the solar system as they are now known. There is discussion on "Interplanetary Spacecraft" and "Comparing the Planets." A chart of 15 unmanned spacecraft denoting the mission, launch date, arrival date, and status is included. (CW)
