Dugdale, Sharon; Kibbey, David – 1975
This volume presents a partial description of the lessons in the preliminary version of the PLATO fractions curriculum. Each lesson has three parts: review, new material, and a student-selected option. Students receive immediate feedback from the computer as they progress through each lesson. Five groups of lessons are described: meaning of…

Stake, Bernadine Evans – 1977
Work with PLATO, a computer-based teaching system which provides a means for individualizing instruction, is described. Children sit at terminals and respond to directives and questions on the screen by touching it or by typing a message. PLATO responds, and prescribes work in accordance with the child's previous performance. Curricular materials…

Binswanger, Richard – Arithmetic Teacher, 1988
Describes an activity intended to incorporate investigation into learning of mathematics. The example cited involved having fourth graders study perimeter and area of rectangles using Logo. The author suggests that what began as a simple exercise in investigating geometric concepts became an exciting exploration that touched on many topics. (PK)
