The basic models of mandated, postlicensing, educational activity for professionals are reviewed including: (1) podiatry model (course content, mode of delivery, lecturer credentials, and administrative controls); (2) continuing competence model; and (3) peer review model. The podiatry model is thought to be the most logical, expedient, and satisfying. (MLW)
