Race, Kathryn E. H.; Planek, Thomas W. – Evaluation Review, 1992
A recent Delphi study on recreational boating safety priorities of 94 safety experts is used to illustrate the utility of applying the modified scree test to Delphi data. The scree test does not oversimplify decisions and can be applied to fairly complicated data. (SLD)

Zoski, Keith; Jurs, Stephen – Evaluation Review, 1991
The concerns about the use of a modified scree test in analyzing data from Delphi surveys may not be important if the scree test data are weighted. Factors important to the study can be incorporated into the test, and the ordinate on the graph can be labeled accordingly. (SLD)

Altschuld, James W.; Thomas, Phyllis M. – Evaluation Review, 1991
Three problems affecting the use of a modified scree test in analyzing Delphi survey data are discussed: (1) the adequacy of the criterion; (2) the complexity of decision making; and (3) the nature of the Delphi panel. Using the modified scree test with these considerations in mind is suggested. (SLD)

Murry, John W., Jr.; Hammons, James O. – Review of Higher Education, 1995
The Delphi method, a group decision-making technique, is detailed, including its uses, underlying assumptions, strengths and limitations, potential benefits to qualitative higher education research, and key considerations in its use. Use of the method is illustrated in a recent national study to develop a set of management audit assessment…

Hakim, Simon; Weinblatt, J. – Evaluation and Program Planning, 1993
Whether consensus existed among groups involved in implementing the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 was examined through the Delphi technique for legislators, policymakers, directors of rehabilitation centers, and client training staffs. Different perceptions of objectives are highlighted, and the usefulness of the Delphi technique is…

Sworder, Steven C. – 1989
This study describes the basic mathematics programs used in, and develops a set of recommendations for, the curriculum at Saddleback College. A survey of the mathematics chairpersons of 105 California community colleges and of the mathematics department faculty was conducted for use in beginning a four-part Delphi exercise. Based on the results of…
