Koriath, Kirby L.; Merrion, Margaret M. – Review of Higher Education, 1992
Basic components of the Doctor of Arts degree were identified through program descriptions and a dissertation survey, and compared to components suggested in Ernest Boyer's proposed revision of graduate education. Findings suggest that the proposed revisions are already in place in most schools that offer the degree. (Author/MSE)

A national survey of 53 dental schools found most were not interested in developing a separate division or department of dental anesthesiology. Of those with a dentist anesthesiologist responsible for teaching pain control, all have or favor such a division. Less than one-third employ professionals limiting their practice to anesthesiology.
