Refinements of space standards and a survey of physical facilities are reported for Ontario-area universities. Part I, "1987 Refinements to the Council of Ontario Universities (COU) Space Standards," updates the interim report issued in August 1986 and consists of the following: development of the COU space standards, the work of the 1985-87 task force (terms of reference and methodology and unresolved issues), and the space categories (classrooms, class labs, research, office, library, athletic facilities, university and student services, and maintenance). Figures and appendices provide: 1978 and 1987 space guidelines, program classification scheme, task force membership, space classification scheme (notes, definitions and glossary), definitions of input measures, and 1987 revised space guidelines. In Part II, "Inventory of Physical Facilities of Ontario Universities, 1986-87," results of the inventory are tabulated in 33 tables. Space requirements are tabulated in five appended tables. (KM)
