Highlights findings from the National Science Foundation's "1982 Postcensal Survey of Natural and Social Scientists and Engineers." Indicates that, from 1972 to 1982, employment of scientists and engineers increased 4 percent per year. However, these employment gains do not reflect the picture for chemists or chemical engineers.
