An electrical rate structure based on summer demand peaks 1000 kilowatts higher than average winter-month peaks forced University of Richmond officials to investigate alternative methods of electrical generation. They settled on a cogeneration system which levels and reduces summer peaks for a projected annual savings of $126,000. (Author)
