Silences: Helping Elderly Holocaust Victims Deal with the Past.
Schindler, Ruben; And Others
International Journal of Aging and Human Development, v35 n4 p243-52 1992
In later life, persons who have faced severe crises such as Holocaust in Nazi Germany need to share experiences with others. To engage these elderly with reminiscences, memory, bereavement, and working through of guilt provides challenges for helping professions. Sensitivity to intergenerational dynamics are important in helping elderly Holocaust victims deal with their past. (Author/NB)
