Personality functioning of 90 children (ages 11-16) with intelligence quotients greater than 135 was examined using the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule and the Child Behavior Checklist. Samples of gifted adolescents in Louisiana (N=44) and Connecticut (N=34) were administered the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT), and their parents completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL). A study evaluated differences in ratings of behavior problems and competence from the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) between samples of 78 gifted adolescents and 62 controls. Results found no reliable differences for any scales from the CBCL and a low prevalence of behavior problems in both samples. (Author/CR)
